“Lindsay, who greeted us when we arrived and served our breakfast in the morning, was very kind, friendly and genuine, always greeted us with a smile, and was very flexible and accommodating in meeting all our requirements. The owner, too, was very kind, looking after our case on the last day of our stay, and arranging for Lindsay to drive us back to the station when we were leaving. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. It is a very old and very large inn which they are in the process updating. It has an Indian restaurant in the front, serving delicious Asian cuisine, and a fabulous games saloon in the rear, where you can play pool, darts or dominoes (we brought our own!) at your leisure. Very down-to-earth, fantastically close to the sea, and with the bus stop right outside, taking you to Alnwick, Berwick and the coast one way, and Newcastle the other, every half an hour. At these prices it's a given - you must go!!!”
