“Historic inn on the high street of an attractive village with antique shops, a bakery, a canal, a beautiful townhall, and a coffee shop all nearby. Easy parking at a municipal car park. The hotel building is hundred of years old, but the interior is completely refurbished with modern facilities. Attractive and comfortable rooms with nice bathrooms. Extremely helpful staff team. Reception is manned 24/7. We had a nice evening meal seated right in the bay window of the restaurant.”

The Bear Hotel is a historic inn set in the charming market town of Hungerford in the heart of the North Wessex Downs.
“Had last stayed there 43 years before on a car rally. Plenty of charm and so convenient for the antique stores. Best fish and chip store in Hungerford is as good as any we have had on our frequent trips to the UK. Excellent breakfast which includes kippers amongst the choices. Bathrooms was excellent. Had the lamb shank for dinner first night an excellent choice”
