“This is a perfect place in which to stay - truly the Land of the Gods. The accommodation is almost on the beach - a gorgeous, seemingly endless stretch of sand which, in May, was virtually deserted and ideal for swimming and sun-bathing. There was a large balcony on which we could eat, drink, and enjoy the stunning views out to sea and of the surrounding mountains. The accommodation was extremely comfortable, and the kitchen area was excellently equipped. There is a good supermarket just five minutes walk away through olive and fruit groves if you need to buy things, while Githeo is only ten minutes drive away. Our hosts could not have been more helpful in every respect. I recommend Land of the Gods very highly indeed - you cannot fail to be impressed by its location and comfort, while it is an excellent base for exploring the southern Peloponnese.”

Every morning we were served something simple and sweet like rice pudding and other similar snacks. Our room had amazing views from the balcony. The balcony had 2 sets of doors with screens so we left them open at night, and slept to the sound of ocean waves. Our host and his family were so accommodating to us. At the end of our stay, he informed us that they were olive farmers and gifted us a bottle of their very own EVOO. It’s located just 10 minutes drive away from Gythio city center, and 15 minutes away from the shipwreck at Valtaki Beach. For Spartan Race competitors, it’s 45 minutes away from Sparta.”

The hotel is lovely - spotlessly clean, beautifully and thoughtfully designed, with the best mattress I've ever slept on in a hotel anywhere. The location is near Gytheio (far enough to feel out in the olive grove but near enough to be close to fish tavernas, bakeries and ice cream), and a short walk through a charming olive grove to a beautiful beach where you can turn right for a beach bar with loungers and unbrellas, or turn left, as we did, to have a huge expanse of beach entirely to yourselves. When we walked on the beach just after dawn, we passed seven (seven!) brand-new sea-turtle egg nests, newly laid overnight, and not yet discovered by the volunteers from the organization that has people walking the beaches every morning and evening to protect the nests. (We saw the volunteers heading that direction as we were leaving the beach.) All in all, this is a beautiful boutique hotel that I will certainly be happy to return to.”

“That was a perfect stay! Location is amazing with a scenic view, just in the city centre of the lovely Gytheio. Walking distance from restaurants, shops and supermarkets. The host, Maria, is lovely and she made us feeling at home even when our little child was feverish. She has been helpful with precious tips, she prepared cookies for us and she gave fresh fruits. The house is well equipped, nothing missing. Just be aware that you need to walk and climb lot of stairs to get up. I felt this to be an advantage considering the view from the balcony and the amount of lovely food we had there :-)”
