“The owners (Zanzan and Putu) were calming and welcoming people. They are well suited to hospitality. The vegetarian dinner spread was incredibly delicious (and I'm a carnivore). I recommend staying a few nights and doing some day trips to see the village and surrounds. We chose to see the waterfalls and they organised everything (for a reasonable fee). Putu's cousin gave us a tour through the rice fields on the way. His friend Uday climbed a tree for some coconuts and brought them to us. We talked with them over coffee, taking in the view of the rice terraces and mountains around us. It was the friendliest and most relaxed tour I've had in Bali. I can't wait to visit again.”

“We particularly loved the breathtaking view, but also the elegant traditional architecture and furniture. The setting is outstanding. The breakfast is delicious. Everyone was extremely helpful. When we wanted to stay longer they were full, but we were given other choices and even taken to see them. We were able to order food at very reasonable warung prices and water was always available - free! It felt like a retreat from noise and haste, but not in a reclusive way. More like camping trips from when I was a teenager (30 something years ago). Bob is a wonderful guide and a fascinating person to talk to. We highly recommend his waterfall trek. It's not difficult, includes informative stops and delicious lunch, and culminates in an exhilarating waterfall slide, or leaping from great heights (nup, didn't do that bit) or just swimming in the "Blue Lagoon". Dian is incredibly helpful and generous and just a sweetheart. This was the side of Bali we really wanted to see and we were not disappointed. We hope to come back soon.”
