“Old Caserta is a 20 minute drive from Caserta Palace (The Palace is closed on Tuesdays). We felt very safe here as Caserta itself is a bit rough and rundown. The rooms surround a beautiful little courtyard that is accessed by a huge gate that is locked at night. The property is in a dead end street so nobody passes unless they are staying at the B&B. The staff were very hospitable and the owner was very knowledgeable on the history of Caserta and the Palace. The breakfast room is always kept open so that the guests can help themselves to refreshments. Our double ensuite was above the breakfast room. It has been tastefully decorated with elegant furnishing and is of adequate size. All areas, including those outside are spotlessly clean. There are bicycles that can be used free of charge, which were useful for going to the supermarket and restaurants. There is also a wonderful local restaurant called Il Tiglio just around the corner where you can eat well, plenty and is cheap.”
