“The most amazing thing was the terrace. It is truly an oasis as pictured. The apartment was comfortable enough, the kitchen well-equipped and the recycling clearly demarcated. Having the upstairs separate bedrooms made everyone feel they had plenty of space and privacy. The host gave us very good tips about where to eat, which was necessary because this was not obvious. “I don't even know where to begin; Casa MarSalia is easily the most special place I've ever stayed in my life, and I've traveled to 25 different countries. Aurelio, Anna Rita, and of course, the puppy, Lisa, are an incredibly welcoming, warm, lovely, and kind family. Aurelio and Anna Rita picked my boyfriend and I up from the bus station after a 14-hour trip from Naples. They made us feel right at home, showed us the room, and knew intuitively that we needed lots of rest. A few hours later, they proposed an excursion for us the following evening. They took us to a beautiful place along the sea to watch the sunset and to take a boat ride. It was a place that we wouldn't have known about if not for Anna Rita and Aurelio. After our boat ride, they picked us up and took us to a fabulous pizza restaurant. We enjoyed great conversation together and of course, marvelous food and wine! To put it simply, my boyfriend and I felt like we had become part of a beautiful and gracious Italian family, almost instantly upon arriving in Marsala! When we were supposed to leave Casa MarSalia and take a boat to an Island called Marettimo, the boat was canceled due to strong winds, and this was a wonderful surprise - we got to stay another night with our family! We had a lovely lunch together and we went to another marvelous town, Mazara del Vallo, and shared an exceptional dinner together. My boyfriend and I were quite sad to leave; we would have loved to stay with Aurelio and Anna Rita (Papà e Mamma!) forever! Our stay at Casa MarSalia was without a doubt the absolute highlight of our month-long trip in Italy. My boyfriend and I cannot wait to go back to visit Anna Rita, Aurelio, and Lisa! If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind cultural experience in Sicily, in Italy, in the world, stay at Casa MarSalia!!!!!!
