“We weren’t sure what to expect in terms of rooms & facilities as we found description on booking.com rather confusing. We hope the following helps you make sense of the photos & description. We had booked a quad room with external bathroom for 2. What we got was a large bedroom at the back of the house with one double & 1 single bed with a large ensuite. Next door to our room was a large kitchen with a gas hob, kettle, a milk pan, & lots of crockery. There was a dining table & sofa in this room & it led into a sunny courtyard with another table & lots of lovely plants. As far as we could tell the other available room (2 double beds) is at the front of the house & has a balcony but it also has a door leading into the kitchen & you would share this & the sunny courtyard if there were people in the other room. During our stay we were the only ones there & we were able to use these areas to relax. We like to self cater but there weren't enough pans. We asked for some & they were happy to supply us with a large pasta pan & we were able to make do, but the kitchen isn't really set up for that. It would be very simple to make it complete & I'm sure Maria woukd be happy to do that. Maria & Croce live upstairs but are not in evidence except when they come into the kitchen to set up breakfast which consists of a big bowl of fruit, bread, biscuits, tea & coffee. They are very friendly but only speak Italian. Their son Albanese did all the paperwork & speaks a little English so with the help of google translate we did fine. This is a really nice traditional family place to stay & only a couple of minutes from the rest of town. Petralia Sottana is a friendly town & a great base for exploring The Madonnie Mountains.”
