“high quality service; the employees are very kind and helpful especially Ms 坂元 who is patient enough to reply my many questions not only by mails but also face to face check in. She also help us to call relevant contact to reserve the JR Express. Meanwhile, I am strongly recommended the hotel's dinner which is the most delicious Japanese food I had in Japan. Staff are so nice and their breakfast is perfect as well. The shuttle bus service is quite useful and the driver is so nice. Pick up and send us to bath sand to JR station. We enjoyed the public and air bath as well. Perfect experience and like this hotel though we have only one day staying”

“Located at the seaside with wonderful seaview from all guest rooms. The hotel was well ventilated throughout with open corridors. Renovation was a bit outdated but well kept and clean. Was allocated a room on top floor as requested. Sandbath was included in the room rate. Free shuttle to Ibusuki JR Station and the public sandbath at the beach. Helpful and friendly staff who though didn't speak much English, had tried their best to communicate with us.”

Opened in 2012, Yado Matsukaze provides cosy Japanese-style accommodation situated a 15-minute walk from JR Ibusuki Station.
“Such a welcoming couple, and such a clean place. When I arrived (a bit late after a long journey) they offered me iced tea and showed me where everything was. I told them a bit about my journey, and they were interested to know. The bathroom and wash facilities looked new. The room is traditional Japanese. I walked there from the railway station, which was a long walk but not bad. I read some had them pick them up. Not sure what people meant about them being rude or drunk. Maybe they have changed. In most cases I think if you're friendly to them, they are friendly back... as with anywhere really.”
