“It’s an amazing location right at the top of Mesilau, you can’t get any higher or closer to Mount Kinabalu (unless you hike it of course)!! Views of the mountain tops are breathtaking and the wider views over the area below are sweeping. It was such a lovely and quiet place to be, lots of greenery and flora & fauna and stunning views. We stayed in the luxe Agapanthus guest house and it was so worth it. Everything is tastefully designed and there are lots of comfortable touches including the soft bedding and comfy sofa. It was clean and neat. Kitchen was well equipped (so you can buy a few things from the guest house (noodles/veg) or stop at the main town Renau on the way) and there’s plans for a future on site restaurant that will make this place even more amazing!) This is great for a family and each room has its own bathroom that’s got its own luxury touches. The home is very spacious with the open plan living space. Lots of activities and board games kept us occupied in the evening. Note, the air is fresh up in the mountain so be sure to pack a warm set of clothes for evenings. Views of the sky and stars at night is beautiful as this location is really quiet. The drive to get there from KK is stunning with views across the area. The staff there were friend and helpful. They answered all our questions and recommended activities to us. These guest houses also have a strawberry farm where for a tiny fee you can learn how the strawberries grow and pick your own, we did this and the gardener/guide was informative and enthusiastic to show us round. A great insight into the diverse life up in the mountains! We loved our stay here and the location was perfect 👌”
