“A very nice and cozy place to be in. It's a bit old, yet very clean and tidy. The deluxe suite is like a small apartment in your home. The view from the window is a street with daily life. Service is good. The guy at the reception is very responsible. We talked to him about thinking booking a taxi to the airport but not yet decided, then we went back to our room. When we were about to forget that thing, we received a phone call from the reception and told us the taxi was ready for us. Very cozy and considerate service. There are only two English-speaking receptionists. And they don't speak English that good, anyway you can say it's enough for communication. It's near the city square where there is a 24hr supermarket to its east. It's convenient for travelers, I think. And the bus stop is just around the crossroad not far from the hotel. I'll choose to stay here again if I don't want to bother finding a new one.”

“This hostel is not a hostel. It is a lovely decorated, nicely furnished home with much love to detail. Every room is individually furnished and has it's own bathroom. The terrace is huge, the kitchen is brand new, the tea is tasty. But the best thing are the two sisters running the hostel. One speaks perfectly english, the other is incredibly nice. I asked them where I can buy some tickets for a Boat-trip. 10 minutes later they drove me through the city, bought the tickets (cos I dont speak any Russian), explained me the city-sights (with much fantasy) and brought me back to the hostel. Lovely! The only thing I would advice other travelers: call them before you come - because there is no sign at the front door so you may not find it without help.”

I was greeted by a very friendly non-English-speaking woman who offered me a kettle and some water from the water cooler in reception. I arrived at about 7am from after 4 nights on the train from Moscow and was allowed to check straight into my room for which I was very grateful. Everyone I met here was friendly (all staff – I wonder whether I was the only guest). The post office, a branch of Subway and pizza restaurant also practically on the doorstep and it’s easy walking distance to Lenin Street and several of the squares. With it's gracefully decorated corridors which surely have seen better days...my room wasn't quite so appealing...”

“It was a very nice stay, conveniently located - in the sheer center of Irkutsk, <15 min walking from the coast, main churches (including Roman catholic church), as well as supermarkets, markets and minibus station (from where you can take a minibus to Listvyanka at the Baikal Lake). It is also well-connected with the Irkuck Airport, there is a direct bus (numer 4, 11 stops). In the same building you can find a bank with money exchange (convenient for foreigners), and next to it - a nice pizzeria. The flat is very clean and well-equipped (washing machine, iron, bath and kitchen) and they have a goregeous cat! We got a relatively spacious room, lovely arranged, bed a little hard, but comfortable. The owner rather does not speak English, but it was not a problem to communicate.
