“The good news: It's quite cheap. The place is fairly clean. Bed was comfortable. Hot water was there. The location isn't great if you're focused on the bus station and a quick getaway after one night in town, but it's excellent if you're interested in the Dien Bien Phu battle history -- most of the major sights (the museum, Hill A1, the cemetery) are a short walk away. The surrounding streets are lively, though this makes for a fair amount of street noise. The Internet signal is good and strong. Room sizes vary: try to get one at the end of the hallway, which is larger with more natural light. I was grateful to the staff for allowing me to check in very early (like 6:30 a.m.!) after a sweaty overnight bus ride from Hanoi. The townspeople in DBP are very friendly, and there is some beautiful countryside away from the downtown core.”

They let us check-out late because we had to catch a night bus.”
