Realize when you book it’s a national monument and this does not allow for standard rooms. For me this made it unique and very home like. Friendly well trained staff with a keen eye for hospitality. This was our first time staying in a floating house next to a river so sleeping and waking up to that view was really nice. The room was very cozy, I love the blankets which were thick and warm since it was like pretty cold at night. They also had a heater. Ton and Tomoko, our hosts were amazing! They are really super nice and give you the privacy that you need.

You get to have your own separate apartment so to say, the old Captains area. Upon entry you find the cozy living area with couch, two chairs and a vintage record player. Downstairs is the kitchen with fridge, dishwasher and enough utensils etc. Friendly little details provided by the hosts give it a very personal feel. the bedroom is a comfy bed for two and the window just above water level as well as the skylight with option cover makes for the true ship feeling. In the summer there is a small balcony with hammock upstairs. And the view of the harbor is very calming for us at least. The bathroom has a nice modern shower, the floor is such that it can be dried easily with the sweeper..All products were provided.
