Situated just 1.9 km from Parkview Golf Club, B&B on 8th Avenue provides accommodation in Johannesburg with access to a terrace, barbecue facilities, as well as full-day security. We had an incredible stay with Denise and Phoebe the cat. Everyday began with a breakfast at Denise's breakfast table where we shared stories and sighed about poltics or learned new things about the area's archaeological digs. Denise is a lovely, well-informed, easygoing and hospitable person. She took a lot of trouble to suggest things that we'd enjoy and things we should look out for. Even her other guests were warm and gracious and friendly. The rooms are simply delightful, very comfortable and well-equipped. The area is in a high-security neighborhood. Outside the room is a couple of tables and chair as well as the patio area you see in the picture if you just want to chill and read a book. I think the best part is that Denise relies on water tanks and solar energy, so there is no fear of load shedding or water cuts to dampen your stay. I think I could happily stay a month or more at such a comfortable place. And Denise let us use her garage to park our rental car so we weren't worried about it either.

Situated in the suburb of Melville in Johannesburg, Lucky Bean Guesthouse features a lush garden and an outdoor pool. The guest house is 1 km from the Country Club. Natasha and Conway were fabulous hosts, they went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. The room was spacious and in a great location, would definitely recommend Lucky Bean.

Everything is perfect. The beds are firm but cosy, the breakfast is excellent and filling in the well lit and spacious dining room. The breads and pastries are home made and there is always someone around to help or assist. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. The room has everything you need - hot shower, blow dryer, tv, strong wifi and is so quiet to sleep! Shops and restaurants are close by. Walking distance to parks and Uber into town or to the mall easy and well priced. As a first time traveller to Joburg I wondered about staying in the suburb instead of the city but this is the way to do it in South Africa. You can walk around this area and take day trips into town or to Soweto. It was an excellent first place to stay. You will not be disappointed I promise you.

Beautiful house, nicely furbished and very comfortable, in a splendid garden. The area is quiet and the landlord is caring and thoughtful. Great stay in Melville, will definitely choose the same place on my next stay in Joburg. Thanks again !

The hosts are amazing: friendly and helpful, and with a great attitude. The place is very illuminated, has a beautiful private veranda and everything works great. Location is also TOP with beautiful sightseeing of the city Skyline.
