Lake Windermere can be reached after a picturesque 15-minute walk from The Ambleside Inn - The Inn Collection Group. Free WiFi is accessible in public areas.

We had a really great experience staying at the Ambleside Inn. The food was very good, and the selection of beers was really nice too. For us, we found the staff to be one of the highlights of our entire stay. From Josh & Jack behind the bar, to Kali and Julie (managers on shift), to the cooks in the kitchen busting themselves to prep breakfast and our supper orders....it was a memorable stay, and we cannot wait for an opportunity to return to the Lake District just to stay here. The location is very central, and makes everything walkable - including the ferries (about 15-20 mins away).

I have to say, the staff were exceptional. Hayley was so helpful, with the shower being broken in our room we were offered a full refund for the stay. Hayley tried to fix the issue herself and was so polite. We were beyond impressed, we will be looking to re book here in the near future when we come back to the Lake District. The room was comfortable with the facilities being second to none.

the staff were incredible with my toddler. They have him chocolate treats, complimentary juice, fish food to feed the fish in the pond outside and couldn’t do more for us as a family.

Pub and restaurant are great. All I expected and hoped for in a ‘pub inn hotel restaurant ‘. Staff was very kind, helpful and fun ! Our family room was very big, and the bathroom very modern and clean. The surroundings are stunning. We stayed here the first night of our arrival in Lakedistrict and made a beautiful walk along the lake, played in the stream and climbed trees just in front of the hotel. The gardens and Wordsworth house also nextdoor. Kids asked straight away if we could stay there the rest of the holiday

Very friendly stuff. The food was delicious, breakfast was very nice.room neat and tidy ,good for a purpose! Enjoyed stay there. This is all above the pub and restaurant,so if you don't sleep well in noise don't book here, however they provide an earplugs. Family Room for 3 adults and one child was good enough for sleep and get ready for the next day challenge!

Nice size family room that was well laid out. Breakfast was substantial and there were a good variety of options for food and juices. The breakfast wrap was ok but the skin from the sausages (in the wrap) was industrial strength and the kids did not like it.
