The cottage was in the farm courtyard which was immaculate, peaceful and comfortable. It is quite remote and 2 miles to the nearest village which suited us perfectly and one reason why we chose it. Within a few mile radius we visited a lot of villages and attractions. Great walking area too.

Set in the beautiful Dovedale Valley, The Izaak Walton is a 17th-century hotel with spectacular views across the Derbyshire countryside, known for its fishing streams, a log fireplace in the front hotel lounge and an additional log fireplace with traditional oak beamed ceilings in the Bar area.

We recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Izaak Walton Hotel in the Peak District. The hotel is in a lovely gracious old building and the reception staff were welcoming. We were assisted to carry our bags up the stairs to our room which we appreciated. Our accommodation was wonderfully spacious with a generous ensuite, and there were good outdoor seating areas for guests. The views from our room of the peaks were most inspiring. Breakfast was excellent and staff again very helpful. An ideal location close to the Dovedale National Park. Thankyou.

We booked this property as a base for our young family as we had planned a few days at Alton Towers. Only a short 15 minute drive to Alton Towers and the property itself we found extremely clean, it had everything for us (including the owner installing the stair gate for our young child prior to our arrival) and also offered a high chair for our use. Smart TV in the lounge was great and very comfortable beds! We would highly recommend and will certainly be coming back to stay in the future!

I came for a relaxing break to do lots of walking with my dogs. Although the park itself was very busy with families and small children, I was not disappointed with our position, couldn't hear the children and was extremely quiet and peaceful. Excellent walks on the door step Shop facility on the ground
