We had such a great stay here! We used it as a base to explore the Lakes from - much less crowded and touristy, and everyone we encountered on Walney Island made us feel so welcome! The hosts at Victoria House were lovely and the room was exactly what we wanted: comfy bed, gorgeous bathroom (with a clawfoot tub to soak in after a big day of walking!). Will absolutely be back!

Built as a private house in 1914, the hotel has hosted King George V and other members of the royal family. Many of the rooms and public areas retain elements of Edwardian luxury, including high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows.

The staff were amazing, the welcome on arrival was over and beyond. The hotel was absolutely stunning. good delicious food, great area for the kids outside to play football. I felt nervous bringing the kids away alone as a single parent and saved up for it and felt safe and the kids were blown away.

Spacious apartment, comfortable and functional. Smart TV and DVD were a bonus for myself and the kids. Comfortable beds, sofa and chairs. Nice to have two quiet bedrooms. Lounge area has natural light and is cosy, connected to the kitchen. Great to have a decent size dining room also.

This hotel was great value for money! We booked a family room and it was very spacious for our toddler to have a little run around in & it had a bath too which was a nice surprise. The staff were lovely and very helpful! We forgot our bed guard so they let us borrow one. One of the ladies that did breakfast gave us lots of local recommendations for day trips and places to visit. The hotel was very clean and tidy. Small hotel carpark next to the entrance. Overall we had a lovely time and would stay here again.
