The layout of this cottage was superb - especially for my elderly mother who has mobility challenges. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were luxurious - especially the tubs! The remote charm of this cottage was further enhanced by the whole village, including the friendly proprietor and locals at the nearby pub, plus an excellent mobile coffee wagon we discovered near the common. Perfect for a quiet weekend away in the country.

We stayed for two nights for a family wedding at nearby High House so we didn’t get to explore the area too much but had a lovely meal at The Oyster Smack Inn, only two minutes round the corner. It was much better staying in a house than all trying to get ready in a hotel room. Accessing the property was easy and stress-free, with some nice touches from the owners.

Bearing in mind this is room only accommodation without many of the typical features of a hotel (if you are looking for breakfast, room service, slippers / bathrobe etc then this isn’t the place for you) However if you are looking for a comfortable and clean place to stay that is family friendly (I used a family room that was great for me and kids e joyed the bunk bed) then this place is ideal. Clean, comfortable with friendly and welcoming staff. I wouldn’t hesitate to use again.
