This 15th-century castle dates back to Mary, Queen of Scots, and is set in 40 acres of stunning parkland. Edinburgh city centre is 8 miles from Carberry Tower Mansion House and Estate.

Rooms at the magnificent Carberry Tower Mansion House are all unique and traditional in style. Each also comes with a work desk and facilities for making tea and coffee.

This castle is spectacular. You’re not just getting a bedroom, you’re getting access to magnificent hallways with tapestries, stained glass windows and armour. You can sit in the stunning music room, library, snug and other historic rooms. The views from the bedrooms are spectacular (ours overlooked the walled garden). The grounds are gorgeous, peaceful and full of cute rabbits. The complementary breakfast was delicious and even included haggis which was exciting for us foreign visitors.

Offering quiet street views, Riverside is an accommodation located in Musselburgh, 9.3 km from Edinburgh Playhouse and 10 km from Royal Mile. Featuring river and inner courtyard views, this apartment also comes with free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is situated 2.6 km from Portobello Beach.

The property was lovely, fresh, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Lovely modern smart TV, nice, well stocked kitchen, shower and bath. Nice views over the river but only 2 mins walk from high street. Tescos literally over the road too and beach 5 mins drive away. Easy access instructions and parking readily available. It was home away from home. Price wise, Edinburgh pricing is generally high (and rugby world cup was on) so whilst not inexpensive it is comparable.

The staff are so welcoming, friendly and helpful here - nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is delicious and very generous, and dinner in the Bistro is exceptional. The hotel is seeped in history (we visited because the Tower appears in our family ancestry), creating a wonderful atmosphere and the substantial grounds are beautiful. Without question, the highlight are the scones served for afternoon tea - we have tasted a lot, including those in top London establishments and these were by far the best, anywhere, ever!

The view is just gorgeous here. The location is great for getting into Edinburgh on main bus routes. Beds were comfy and showers good. The living area was super comfortable and the dining area was great, with a well equipped kitchen. We travelled with 3 young children and had more than enough space and it was a lovely comfortable place to relax when we weren’t out.

We stayed overnight after a family event held in the afternoon. The room we were given was spacious and very comfortable. The setting, being a country estate, was extremely quiet. Dinner in the evening was superb with a delicious, well presented meal from a menu that did not overwhelm. The emphasis is on quality & service.

The history that it represented and the quirky bits and pieces of the Mansion House were so fascinating…plus the gardens were like something out of Harry Potter. Staff were amazing and provided that family feel around the property.

Although outside Edinburgh, it was a quick and easy train journey right into the centre. The apartment was clean modern functional and nicely decorated. And plenty of room for a family of 5. Parking was right outside and on a dead end street so super convenient. Road was quiet and hosts were very easy to deal with.

Room was magnificent - we were upgraded to a suite with 4 poster bed - nearly got lost in the bed alone lol. We were attending a family function at the hotel - the meal was first class - up there with top meals I've ever had. Breakfast in the morning was also top notch. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
