Kasa was extremely comfortable, modern, and well-designed. Food portions were very generous, excellent wifi, and there was also free drinking water (instead of having to buy small bottles all the time). Ana helped with planning my hikes and organizing a guide. It's not too long a walk to Paul to catch the aluguers though it's important to keep in mind the island is huge and it takes time and money to get around. I regretted moving to another area b/c I really loved my stay here.

Pombas is a great location to stay in the beautiful Paul Valley to do hikes during the day and to enjoy a lovely dinner in town or at the host's place! We stayed for a week and really enjoyed the daily variety in breakfast every day and the interaction with our host. Not only could he advice about the hikes you could do, but he also told us about life in Santo Antao.

Liana and her family are great hosts. They invited me to dine at their table and helped me plan out my days, including several breathtaking treks. It's rare to feel so at home when on the road, but the Black Mamba achieves this feat. And the breakfast, with ocean waves as a playlist, would be tough to top!
