Offering a restaurant and a private beach area access, Bazouk Du Saloum Ecolodge is located in Mar Lodj Island. Free Wi-Fi access. Each room here will provide you with a terrace. Idyllic location and hosts that make you feel very welcome. A place to completely switch off. The food was great and the activities we did were excellent - birdwatching trip by pirogue and a walk with a herbalist on the island. We loved being able to swim directly from the lodge and the little beach is great. Would recommend the accommodation with the river view.

On top of that, the location is great, with a beautiful view of sunrise and the river, lots of nice wind, close to the river and village. On top of that, there's a pool! And on that of that, Joseph and Penda and Alecia are wonderful hosts. Joseph is super nice, he'll take you everywhere and show you everything including his beautiful secret spots. I really enjoyed my stay and wanted to stay longer but it was booked up.

Very nice place in the beaitiful Mar Lodj with friendly owners. Our favorite part was food, we had 2 dinners and a lunch, and they were all super delicious.

Céline's place is excellent - located in the fairly large village of Toubakouta, close to the border with the Gambia, and sitting right on the Sine Saloum Delta. The rooms are large and comfortable, equipped with Mosquito nets, showers and plenty of storage space. The atmosphere around the lodge is relaxed and comfortable, with communal spaces for sitting and chatting, playing games (also provided) and taking meals together. The food is also very good, with fresh bread from the local bakery, homemade jams, juices and yogurt and even some Korean options. There are numerous activities to take part in, easy to choose from from a 'a la carte' book (in Both English and French). This includes things like boats or kayaks in the Delta, guided tours of the region on foot or bike, as well as more surprising options like Tai Chi, African Drumming or lessons on cookery. We took part in a day-long trip with local guide Doudou (who is also excellent) on the water to some of the island and villages in the Delta, and it was fantastic as we got to lunch together with some local people in the Senegalese style. If you're not sure what you would like to do, there's Céline can also help guide you and many of the choices can be arranged at fairly short notice, meaning it's perfectly possible to show up with no plans and just take it from there. Finally, its also worth mentioning that Céline and her husband Gilles who run the Keur Niaye, are also well-known and clearly well respected within the community. They, and their staff, support a number of good causes across Toubakouta and the surrounding area.

It was an amazing stay. The breakfast was amazing. Everyone was so kind. We arrived late and they were waiting for us. I highly recommend staying here!!

They cater very well to vegetarians. The swimming area and dock are relaxing and sunsets beautiful, the free kayaks are a great plus as well. The pace is slow and relaxed, but the horseback/cart rides were a nice break from the water for a longer stay.

The nice ice cold drinking water at one of the stores in this village, not to mention the two 'made to be' cold codys beer I never expected but had in the island. The warm reception at a rest hole by an artistic local soul. The dive in the Atlantic from this island. A 13,000 cfa per kg of fresh sea lobsters for dinner. Plus a 1000 cfa large squid, it was the best deal.
