I never pay any advance when I book through booking.com, but Treebo Company is the worst. Treebo, not Kavish, demand 50% payment in advance else they cancel the booking. My booking was cancelled as I did not pay any advance. But the hotel staff was good at booking me. Treebo Chain management is worst in their look to get advance. No chemicals and pesticides. Researches made by the owner are oriented towards a more traditional approach. Their philosophy tends to consider food as a primary source of natural remedies.
