Everything was perfect. Excellent breakfast, spacious and clean room, wonderful garden and pool. I loved the kindness of the staff. The property was renovated by the father of the family and is managed by the family itself. It is quite evident that they love their job, their property (well maintained) and helping people. The location is fantastic. An old farm house, renovated, with a nice pool in the large garden. Guests could eat at the hotel on early reservation, and the meals were great. We enjoyed the terrace and the sunsets. The hosts are really taking care of their guests. The hotel is run by two sisters and their mam, and they are doing a great job. A good place to relax, especially after some hiking in the nearby national park.

WOW!! If you are even thinking about booking Casa do Penedo, just do it. The scenery is amazing, the house is huge with all the comforts of home and a unique collection of art. About 30 minutes drive to the village of Geres. The kayaks were fun on the river but boy the current was tough, and we loved spending lounge time in the pool after a day of sightseeing nearby villages or hiking. We grilled every night and dined al fresco at the large table (even beautiful table clothes provided) and enjoyed our morning coffee on the veranda with the most beautiful mountain and river views. We hardly saw anyone during our stay and it was like we had the entire mountain to ourselves. Can't wait to go back!
