    Location superb. Very quiet and peaceful. Cottage was absolutely lovely. Exceptionally clean and with all kitchen equipment in top condition. Luxurious bathroom and a large comfortable bedroom with super comfy bed. Stairs a little steep and not perhaps suitable for elderly or disabled .

    excellent hotel with very friendly & helpful staff. very clean with very nice decor. very special thank you to the chef’s & kitchen staff for excellent food from evening meals & superb breakfasts. very nice room with everything you need for a comfortable stay. dog friendly which was a huge bonus to us. can’t fault this hotel & we will definitely return. Thanks to all who made our stay perfect.

    Outstanding staff- everyone friendly- helpful and seemed very hard-working . Superbly comfortable beds.- lovely towels. Meals very well cooked- seemed to be very well run. The location was excellent- our room- maybe a little on the small side, we are both tall- overlooked the castle.

    When looking at recent reviews before arrival I was a little apprehensive - however I was really impressed -Room was fine. Bar area excellent. People need to realise that dogs are allowed in certain rooms and therefore they are not going to be 5 star - if you want 5 star then pay for 5 star. Our room was fine. Special mention to Ruth and the young guy waiter who were very friendly and made us feel very welcome and especially our dog. Excellent location, food and comfortable bed. Would definitely recommend.

    We could not find any fault with either the accommodation or service. The breakfast was generous and delicious. Rachael is an outstanding chef and we ended up eating in the hotel every night and worked our way through the menu. The staff were attentive and friendly and our dog was treated as a guest. The hotel is really close to the stunning beach which was ideal for dog walking along miles and miles of beautiful sand. Watching the sun rise over the Farne Islands was a special moment. We will definitely return!

    The room was exceptional with a lovely view of the castle. The service in the restaurant was very friendly and helpful and the food was cooked to perfection. We had dinner in the hotel one evening and it was superb. The location is wonderful.
