The hotel stands in its own grounds and has a good size pool and area for lounging on a warm sunny day. The room was spacious, well appointed, quiet and very comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, with nothing too much trouble, they project a happy, efficient team whilst retaining a high degree of professionalism.

The hosts, Alex and her husband, are so friendly and helpful. This is our 2nd stay at the Porthole and we wouldn't stay anywhere else!

The apartment was gorgeous and well-sized, with everything you need for a self-catering holiday. It's right next door to an excellent farm shop, perfect for rustling up delicious meals with fresh local produce. The location is unbeatable: seconds away from the beach and well-served by bus and cycle routes. I loved the combination of the privacy of the apartment with the attentive, 5-star service of the hotel staff. Highly recommended!

Every aspect of the hotel surpassed my expectations. The welcome and continued care and attention from all members of staff was outstanding - so many thanks. The facilities in the bedrooms could not be bettered. Likewise the breakfast choice was outstanding.

Not 5 star, but perfectly adequate, small shower/toilet room, sink in bedroom. Lovely extra large towels. Nice view of harbour. Restaurant below was noisy up until 10.30 pm but then after that was very quiet. Staff were very friendly. Old building with narrow corridors upstairs and steps.

Tea and coffee facilities. I had Room Service for breakfast due to an early flight. Superb. Coffee hot. My toast was still warm. Above and beyond my expectations. 5/5 Star from me. Our room was well furnished, spotlessly clean and had good quality bedding and towels. The breakfasts were superb with an excellent choice. The stunning gardens and summer house were an added bonus. Well worth the five stars that it has been awarded.
