This hotel made our trip. If I could afford it I'd just stay there for the whole 10 days we spent on the coast. It's perfect for beginner surfers as it's right on the Weligama beach. We had a free room upgrade from Ocean View to Ocean Vista and we were so grateful to be pampered. I wish we had tried the Big Fish restaurant, it looked fantastic but we had reservations with friends outside the hotel. The service was exceptional and I'd recommend 100% to anyone looking for a stay in Weligamma.

Nice clean hostel, air conditioned rooms with curtains on the bunk beds and big spacious lockers to fit all luggage, hot water 24 hours a day. 20 minute walk to the centre of Weligama and a 20 second walk to the beach with board rental and surf school. The kitchen is available for use and there's a washing machine too, there's a nice indoor and outdoor communal area. This hostel is brand new and lacks reviews but don't be put off it's been an amazing place to stay.

Absolutely everything! By a long way the best place we stayed anywhere in sri lanka. Stylish, relaxing, everything spotlessly clean, lovely chilled muic playing throughout, all of the staff couldn't be more helpful and on hand for your every need. The rooms were spacious and well appointed with high quality furnishings and toiletries, felt bit like you were in a spa. Ahanghama was one of our favourite places on our trip and definitely our favourite on the coast and the staff and owners had some excellent recommendations for our time there for delicious food and lovely sunset drinks!
