De hospitality was very good! Everyone from the staff really wanted to help. The food was awesome, real Sri Lanka buffet! So shout-out to the chef. Chamara was helping us out with everything else because the owner was away for a few days. He told us about a nice break in between Wilpattu and Anuradhapura (Rajanganaya Dam රාජාංගනය වේල්ල). The safari itself was also very nice. Would recommend a full day.
The staff at Mahoora - Wilpattu were great -- very customer-service oriented. Room was basic and clean and for a tent was definitely glamping! Dinner was superb. Guides were excellent and safaris great, even if we didn't see a leopard or a bear. Night walk was outstanding.
Our stay was truly fantastic. Everybody from the staff was super friendly and they took really good care of us. Food was delicious and the safari was superb. I would definetely recommend this to everybody! Thanks again and hopefully till next time!
Family who run this are so responsive and organised safari straight away. Room was better thsn many other much more expensive places I stayed. Hot water, fan in bathroom, room smelt nice not mouldy, soft lighting options, places to unpack, full length mirror, plush bed snd towels. I'm always wary of buffets, but it was great mostly vegetatian options, made by young local chef. 5 min drive to Wilpattu.
The camp exceeded our expectations, huge tent with hot water in en-suite. Lovely 4 course meal. Definitely a luxury experience and one to remember for all the right reasons. There is always the worry that safari trips will be too intrusive to the animals and nature but this was not! Very well organised and thoughtfully done.
The host is a well known bioligist who build a few lodges next to the national park entrance and situated in the rice fields. Do not expect any luxury. The money earned go’s after costs back to nature preservation. GO HERE!!
Great luxury camping experience on the edge of Wilpattu Game Park. Camp staff were very friendly and wildlife trackers very well informed. The morning jeep safari into the Park through the indigenous forest is amazing, whether you see many animals or not. Just soak in the atmosphere! Food generous and generally good quality.
Location was fantastic, staff were extremely helpful and very much there for us whenever we needed. The camp is very well set up with little areas for everything (check-in/reception, dinning, chillout space with couches etc and huge double tents Accom are all in their own little zones). If you like the idea of the camping vibe but still like a the pampering then I definitely recommend. It is for sure five star glamping due to the service provided
A perfect place to spend a night or two when you come to Wilpattu. The host, Dylan, is a really lovely guy - always smiling and so keen to help and make your stay as comfortable and nice as possible. The accommodation is situated only about 5 mins drive from the entrance to Wilpattu NP. I highly recommend arranging a full day tour with Dylan - it's superb value for money. Dinner was plentiful and very tasty. The rooms were clean and comfortable. This accommodation is superb value for money.
