Eagle Foundry Bed & Breakfast 4 stars

Gawler

Built in 1870 and boasting a hot tub, free breakfast supplies and complimentary WiFi, Eagle Foundry Bed & Breakfast is located at the gateway to the world famous Barossa Valley wine district. Guests will find port wine and free chocolates in their room on arrival. We stayed at Thomson suite. When we opened the door, our jaws dropped. It was ten times more beautiful and quirky than we could ever imagine. It had a very artistic touch on everything and every corner, showing the very long history of the place as a foundry. Gorgeous brick walls exposed inside with outstanding skylight, windows, bar, pool, kitchen, woodburner fireplace and ... I was thinking of living there forever. Greg, the host, came to say hi, what a lovely man he is. He generously filled up the fridge for us, more than we could ever eat.

Walnut Cottage 4 stars

Angaston

Walnut Cottage offers private self-contained accommodation with free WiFi and free breakfast supplies, just 5 minutes’ walk from Angaston's main street. The cottage features lovely garden views, BBQ facilities and an open fireplace in winter months. Cute period cottage in the heart of Angaston, located on a quiet street but within a few minutes' walk to all amenities including bar, restaurant, grocery shop plus a few specialty shops eg Barossa cheese company. Very well equipped, you don't need to take anything with you, it's like a home from home (shampoo, washing powder, condiments, you name it!) Breakfast basket was excellent with enough food for a cooked breakfast, also a bottle of wine, port and juices.
