This was the best stay in our 1 month Costa Rica vacation. The Lodge is in a very special place where you can spot lots of Aras, Toucanes, and even see the dolphins jumping out of the water. The rooms are very clean, there are some bigs but this is totally normal when you stay in the middle of the jungle. The staff is totally awesome. The food from zhe cool Eduardo was the best food we had in our whole trip. But what made our trip to this hotel the best was Daniel, who managed everything in this hotel. He is very ambitious, caring, so kind and supports the guests in every situation. Every problem gets quickly solved by him! We saw that the other guests really enjoyed his hospitality and it seems to us that his presence even highers the value of the hotel!! Thanks to Daniel for everything, you made our trip to Drake unforgetable. Would recommend it 110% to everyone going to Drake. Thank you guys!

We stayed for 3 nights at Drake Bay River View. When we met Olman, the property manager, in town & were escorted to the property, he said “Welcome to paradise “ & it WAS paradise. Where do I begin, the grounds are beautiful, there is a river fed by mountain rain water & a natural pool has been created by the falling water. You can go down there & swim , lay in a hammock, or sit by the river. The staff do an outstanding job of cleaning. The room had fresh flowers, well decorated & the towels are high end quality. Breakfast are served to your liking. Olman was incredibly hospitable. He was like our personal concierge. He booked excursions for us, made recommendations for restaurants in the evening & booked reservations at the restaurants for us. He met us at the ocean beach when we were done with excursions to see how we were doing & if we had any needs. He said that River View will transport quests if they do not have a car. He also offers to pick up food from restaurants & bring to your room if you would like. All of the restaurants that we ate at in town were very good. The location is only 10 minutes from downtown, which I thought was great to be away from the crowd but nearby.

We loved staying here! Elmer is extremely nice and helpful. He is a kitchen chef and his food is great and you can see how he loves cooking. Living in the middle of the jungle you can see animals and untouched nature where you would otherwise pay much for a guided tour to Corcovado. The River right in front is great to fresh up. You can go hiking to waterfalls, through his huge property of 120h and he rents boots and tubes for the river. Would come back anytime and recommend to any friend dearly!

Olman arranged the best tours. We did Corcovado, diving and the early afternoon/evening tour at the family farm. We saw a tapir there and many night animals. More people should do this tour as it supports good local conservation efforts. The dinner afterwards at the farm is fabulous.

I absolutely enjoyed my time at the hostel because it is in the beach it self, you can literally hear the waves day and night from your bedroom. Mari and José were very kind and i felt like at home and like family. Thank you !

The whole experience was amazing. It is a serious adventure, involving a place ride, taxi ride that literally went over rivers and a 30 minute hike- with gear. I am not sure I would have done it (with partner who has bad knees and 9 yo) if I had known how hard it was to get to- but it was so worth it. Ricardo was so full of life and generosity. John always had plenty of time to help us. In addition to keeping the space spotless, Mar even came up with a birthday cake when we needed one! To be clear- you are staying in tents in the jungle. There are insects. The food is expensive. Your clothes never dry. But you are also on the beach in a glorious, amazing place.
