I first contacted Jacobiene regarding a potential kayak expedition on Issyk-Kul. She showed immediate interest in my project and I ended up staying 3 nights at Bel-Zhan. The lodge is a great base camp for activities and treks around Grigorievka and has stunning facilities. I really enjoyed the different room options, the home cooked meals and the beautiful surrounding landscape. I could have seriously spent my entire summer there. They also have a super nice team of volunteers to help around! Thank you Jacobiene and Bel-Zhan for making my crazy project become really; I can’t wait to visit back one day!

The room was warm and nice , beds were comfortable , the stuff were super kind and helpful , the food was delicious and great. We loved everything about our stay and it was magical and great. Just keep in mind that showers and bath rooms are shared and located outside behind the dining room/reception ( and were clean ).

The location in Tong was relaxing and idyllic, and close to some small stores and a range of different types of beaches on the lake. The beaches were wonderful, but relaxing under the shade of the apricot trees was just as special. As other reviews have mentioned, the breakfasts are delicious and generous. We loved sharing some watermelon in the yurt with Bermet for her birthday too! This was, without a doubt my favourite place I have stayed in my three weeks in Kyrgyzstan.

WiFi and facilities are great, toilet is outside for those staying in a yurt and essentially a hole in the ground, which isn't a problem just something to be prepared for :)
