Located in Udawalawe, within 11 km of Udawalawe National Park, Makulu Safari Camping is an accommodation offering river views. There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The property offers a shuttle service and features a garden and outdoor fireplace. The food and the hospitality was exceptional. I forgot something there and they shipped it to me in Sri Lanka without a charge.

The camp is in a remote area surrounded by protected forests. The last leg of the journey to the camp is undertaken on foot, accompanied by the camp staff, providing a unique and invigorating way to reach your retreat in the wilderness. The staff were superb. charming, kind and very knowledgeable. Avinka was incredible, his enthusiasm for the wildlife and leading us on our trek through the wilderness to find over 17 elephants was such a thrill. Mr Kumana was also so helpful and a great guide. the chef was very talented, considering we were in the jungle, the meals he created for us were some of the best we have had during our stay in Sri Lanka. Everyone we met during our two nights stay were just the sweetest people. The entire experience was fantastic and we totally recommend this place to anyone wanting to enjoy the joys of the Sri Lankan jungle with 5 star accommodation and food.

Athgira River Camping offers a great outdoor dining experience as well as a barbecue dinner and cooking demonstrations. Real wild cocktails and a nice wine selection are available as well. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was good and the pool area was nice. They arranged the safari to Udawalawe National Park. The driver took us around the park.

Free private parking is available on site. This was one of the most peaceful, lovely experiences during my trip around Sri Lanka. The tents were well equipped, spacious, and comfortable and made for a peaceful nights sleep. Madu the manager was so kind and helpful! The service and food was excellent- homemade traditional sri lankan food in big portions. We had a lovely time wandering around and going for a swim in the river with the friendly dog Lola. We would like to thank Madu and everyone at the property for their hospitality. We will definitely be coming again! Great glamping experience.

Barbecue dinner is provided around a campfire. Free WiFi is available in the public areas of the property. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The food was good too.
