It was so cozy and had a home away from home feeling. The card games, reading material, and coloring crayons for the kids were a wonderful touch! Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We received a message just before check in telling us about a delicious cafe just down the road. Absolutely would recommend this place!

Set in Notodden, in a historic building, 26 km from Heddal stave church, Bolkesjø Gaard is a recently renovated holiday home with a private beach area and garden. The property has mountain and lake views, and is 47 km from Bø Summerland. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi, free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station. We stayed in Stulen. We can imagine that this accommodation is not for everyone: no running water, limited electricity (solar panels charge a battery to light a few lamps), no bathroom, outside toilet. But a lot of privacy, beautiful view, cosily decorated and still everything is there to make it a pleasant stay. And above all: a very sympathetic hostess/host.
