This holiday retreat is situated 27 km from the coastal village of Vila Nova de Milfontes and Praia do Malhão. Cape Sardão with its community of black storks and lighthouse is a 45-minute drive away. Absolutely fantastic hosts. Staying at Figuerinha was not renting a space but participating in the lives of wonderful people who opened their home for us and demonstrated true interest and genuine friendship towards us. We also loved the concept of the place: everything is designed to be natural, beautiful, sustainable and inclusive. It is important to know what to expect when you go there. The breakfasts are delicious with home made jams and natural foods at a round table which you share with other guests. At night tables are lit by candles and you are accompanied by beautiful music sang by frogs and cicadas. You are encouraged to use a community kitchen rather than your own in your apartment. This not a luxury hotel but a country house out among the nature. We fell in love with this place and the hosts. Paula and Alexandre are fantastic people who did literally everything to make our stay an unforgettable experience.

Off the beaten track Miguel and Chelsea (very lovely hosts) have built an amazing place where you glamp just under a beautiful night sky. The homemade breakfast with fruits from their own garden is just exceptional.

Located 5 km from the fishing village of Porto Covo, Monte da Cascalheira offers 3 separate rustic houses. Recently refurbished and surrounded by garden this country house includes an outdoor pool. Lovely well keep grounds and gardens. Our very large dog was made very welcome and enjoyed meeting the Donkey, Goats and Chickens! Room was perfect, comfy beds and good rural location to explore the surrounding areas such as Vila Nova do Milfonte and Porto Covo's beaches.

A bicycle rental service is available at Costa do Vizir Beach Village. enjoyed front deck, easy access to town, was still very quiet, few people there even tho it said they were full. think it was more that they were at the capacity they could manage short staffed. definitely not full. was a surprise as I thought I had booked 2 rooms double beds and only 1 rm, other rm had bunks. managed….
