The owners/managers gave us an excellent breakfast and while language was a bit difficult sometimes, the mother (don’t know which her name was) went out of her way to engage us in conversation in spite of the fact my German is poor and her English non-existent. Her daughter was very attentive and, when I asked for a few extra towels, the house cleaner was very friendly and obliging. All-in-all, this place ended up being a very nice place to stay. Had a fantastic stay at hotel mariandl, the couple who owns the hotel were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is perfectly located, it’s close to the hochfelln cablecar and to cozy restaurants in the centre. I would stay here again if I ever go back to Bergen!
