Forest How Guest House, nestled among the fells of the western Lake District, is a period property right in the heart of Eskdale. Footpaths lead from the house towards Scafell and Great Gable, approximately 15 miles away.
Location is beautiful. Loved watching squirrels and birds in gardens. Great views. Close to good walks. Breakfast was excellent. Hosts very friendly. Dog was welcome.

Superb stay as usual. Great room and bathroom, super food and a lovely bar area.

Spot on location central to some fantastic walks in the Eskdale valley, friendly staff, lovely variety of food and drinks (Wood fired Pizza oven on site) plenty of parking, friendly laid back accomadating atmosphere, comfortable clean rooms, a great place to stay

With scenic views from every room, Stanley House features a beautiful garden and cosy guest lounge with a log fire. There is free private parking is available.
All bedrooms feature en-suite facilities, free WiFi and a flat screen TV. There are 2 spacious guest lounges. The open plan kitchen/diner looks out on to the large gardens and rivers.
Very cosy place with fully equipped kitchen and a lot of space in a beautiful area. Would definitely recommend it.
Eskdale
A Lake District guest house around 17 miles from Scafell Pike, Brook House Inn provides en suite accommodation and a restaurant and bar. An extensive collection of whiskies and wines are served at this Cumbrian inn, which offers free on-site parking and Wi-Fi.

Boot (Near Eskdale)
Situated in the quaint village of Boot, The Boot Inn offers free WiFi access, free parking, a bar and a restaurant. Set in the heart of the Lake District National Park, the inn is surrounded by cycling and hiking trails. Scafell Pike is 13 miles away and Muncaster Fell is a 15-minute drive away.
Excellent Staff. Great Food. Good Beer and a Great location .I last stayed here 12 years ago and it was good but now it is exceptional.The Room was very comfortable with a lovely view of the Mountain.
Holmrook (Near Eskdale)
The award-winning Bridge Inn is set in the picturesque valley of Wasdale in the Western Lake District. It offers real ales, home-cooked food and is 15 minutes from Scarfell Pike, England’s highest mountain.
We really enjoyed our stay and the breakfasts and evening meals were amazing! You also get a table reserved for you every evening for dinner which was a nice touch. The rooms are comfortable and were always warm and towels and tea, coffee, hot chocolate replenished every day. This is an ideal place for Scafell pike walks. Definitely would stay here again.
Holmrook (Near Eskdale)
The family-run Lutwidge Arms sits in the centre of Holmrook Village on the banks of the River Irt. It offers rooms free Wi-Fi, free parking and home cooked food.
Traditional English breakfasts and evening meals are served daily. Local cask ales are offered in the bar area.
Room was spacious. food was excellent and Staff very friendly. would definitely stay again if we are in that area.
Wasdale (Near Eskdale)
The daily breakfast offers Full English/Irish, vegetarian or vegan options. As an added convenience, the guest house offers packed lunches for guests to bring on excursions and other trips off-property.
Friendly, adfordable, comfortable and perfectly located to explore the peaks. Highly recommended.
