Forest How Guest House, nestled among the fells of the western Lake District, is a period property right in the heart of Eskdale. Footpaths lead from the house towards Scafell and Great Gable, approximately 15 miles away.
Location is beautiful. Loved watching squirrels and birds in gardens. Great views. Close to good walks. Breakfast was excellent. Hosts very friendly. Dog was welcome.

The room was very clean. The staff were very friendly and the food delicious and reasonably priced. The location was fantastic with lovely views and very easy access to great walks.

Excellent breakfast! Plenty of options in a charming sunny room . The food at the restaurant was marvelous. The Mushroom stew was just perfect.
Boot (Near Eskdale)

Very friendly people, beautiful location with very nice garden, good ffod, nice atmosphere.
Holmrook (Near Eskdale)

What a fantastic little find. Very nicely updated and appointed rooms. Lovely large bar and restaurant. Staff was friendly and helpful and the local canine customers were delightful as well . Would definitely recommend to anyone exploring the Western Lakes.
Holmrook (Near Eskdale)
The family-run Lutwidge Arms sits in the centre of Holmrook Village on the banks of the River Irt. It offers rooms free Wi-Fi, free parking and home cooked food.
Traditional English breakfasts and evening meals are served daily. Local cask ales are offered in the bar area.

It is a wonderful place to stay and relax. You can really rest and admire the scenery, and it's a great starting point to climb Scaffel Pike, Great Gabel and other peaks. Looking forward to going back!
