It really like home, even though for one day. We wanted to prolong our stay at Philikon, Rethymno, however it was a short trip this time. We stayed on the ground floor in a spacious room. It had a beautiful balcony and our bed was very comfortable. When in Greece, I feel most comfortable in family run small hotels and it was a pleasure to meet Helena, Athina and their mother. They are doing a great job keeping up this place. Parking is right in front of the building. We will definitely stay in this hotel on our next trip to Rethymno.

The Fortezza castle is a 5-minute walk from the hotel and Arkadi Monastery is at 23 km. Cafes, shops and traditional taverns are just outside the property. Staff at the tour desk can arrange car rental and offer maps.

Our hosts for our five day stay, Emanuel and Antonis were truely fantastic. From the moment we stepped through the door we felt at home and were greeted and treated like family. The breakfasts for the guests was excellent value and oh so delicious! The rooms are in the quieter end of the old town, which is great to be away from the hustle and bustle of the markets but still in close proximity to everything. Walking distance to the Bus Station and some very good Tavernas and restaurants.
