The host, Francesca, was very personable and accommodating. She provided our transportation to and from the train station and answered all of our questions. Her dog keeps the guests company at the villa in the mornings and he is so cute. The Villa was quiet, clean, and comfortable. We loved staying in Colico which had minimal tourism compared to other places on the lake. It was the most relaxing stay we could have had in Lake Como!

Have to walk around 2.5KM from the Colico train station as no public transport to the accommodation. But the host was supercool. He gave us free rides from and to the railway station. If you have own car then perfect holiday spot in a calm and beautiful place. Only the local dogs are unhappy to see strangers walking to the apartment. But they are cute and harmless :-D

Tap water drinkable. White lines parking is free. Blue lines you have to pay for parking. We found a dead end behind the Banko, just next to the rail tracks, which was free, and parked there. About 200m from apartment or less. Nice bakery, Buongustaio only 300m from apartment, if that. A small supermarket, La Gran Bottega, and our favourite restaurant il Faro, great places, must visit.

We took the local wine tour and had a great time. Breakfasts were very good, completely enough to start a day. Additionally we could eat it in our apartment, it was very comfortable for us. Our stay was so relaxing and the house very comfortable with everything we needed and more. The house itself was charming and very clean. Having a car may have made getting around easier if we had been staying for longer but it gave us the opportunity to just rest in the peaceful surroundings so we were very happy here. The jam was excellent, the wine was not for everyone. The hosts are friendly and completely go to meet the wishes of the guests. Giovanni is a great host and we loved the house, the nearby beach (3 min walk through the forrest) and the quiet location. Piona beach (1 km) is an excellent windsurfing site, Collico offers bars, restaurants, grocery shopping and two windsurfing schools. Hiking on the ersten shore of the lake is nice (good accessability by car and great views down to the lake).

He invited us for a day of sailing on the lake as it was an incredible experience. He also gives you tips on where to go and where to eat.
