Nichinan is a very good base to explore the wild southern coast of Kyushu and is very close to the old samurai village of Obi where there are still many historic buildings. Our hosts were very friendly and referred us to some excellent local restaurants.

The hosts are the kindest, they will help you with anything and be extremely happy to discuss with you. It is a perfect stop to explore Ōbi-shi and its samurai district if you want to avoid the high costs associated with sleeping directly in ōbi.
