The breakfast on the terrace overlooking the ocean was amazing, and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Brilliant restaurants and beaches in short walking distance. A really wonderful and unique place to stay.

EVERYTHING! What a place!! Had the one-bedroom 'villa'. Super complete with everything in it you could need Superb view from terrace. Tasty breakfast. A place to stay longer than the only 2 nights I was there. Will come back FOR SURE!!

The privacy of having the whole upper floor and terrace for ourselves, the spaciousness and quality of room and bathroom. Parking in the small quiet street next to the house. Walking distance to center of Tavira. The views of Tavira and the ocean behind. Ample storage space, lots of towels etc. provided including for the beach. Washing machine available. Delta coffe-maker, toaster and small microwave. Table and 2 chairs to enjoy breakfast or spend a quiet moment. Airco for heating and cooling. Big, comfy bed. Breakfast was not included when booking, but the very kind host provided an every day different nice breakfast anyway as a favour in off-season (no garantee!). English, French and Portuguese speaking hosts.

Lovely duplex suite with all the facilities that we needed. It doesn't have a microwave but we didn't need one. The welcome of bread, honey, quince, butter and milk meant we didn't have to go shopping when we arrived. The coffee was continually replenished. Has bath & shower. Very comfy bed and well heated for colder days. Very quiet at night as the duplex is at the back looking over the old fish market no longer in use. Great location near ferry. Lovely restaurants nearby and centre of Tavira was two minutes walk.

The property is downtown and very close to the river front so getting to restaurants or the ferry out to the beach was really easy. I felt very safe there as a woman traveling alone and had no qualms about walking alone in the area. It was spotless and the bed was firm, just as I’d hoped, so I slept quite well. Good water pressure and temps in the shower. Good wi-fi. A laundromat a few blocks away. For being downtown, it was very quiet. Everything is accessible on foot and it’s clear that great care is taken in the decorating and maintenance of the property. I would recommend Downtown Alegria to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, friendly, and convenient spot close to a great many things worth exploring in Tavira.
