But during the day there is a bus running. Still definitly worth staying there!

I also recommend eating Keihan as a breakfast there, it's a delicious local dish. When I return to Amami, I will definitely stay here again ♥️

They were really kind, offering us a lift to the beach on our first day and making us discover more secret parts of the island

At the guest house, the units have bed linen and towels. Sea view! The owners were very nice and helpful, gave us a some maps and some hand drawn map to explain the area. There are coffee beans and everything ready for us to make a hand drip coffee. I can’t wait to make one cup. The coffee taste so good and smooth, maybe this is selected beans. I connected the Bluetooth speaker and playing Mayumi Itsuwa’s songs. Music harmonized with the lovely chalet interior, the atmosphere is so relaxing and immersive. Kihara-san is very nice. The Shinyu Onsen he recommended is gorgeous. The hot spring water is wonderful. It is milky-white, so natural and so great. I guess it come from a sulphur spring. In the daytime, we hiked around Onamiike and Ebino Plateau. The crater lake is amazing and there are great views along the trails. At night, we do BBQ in front of the chalet. We rent a Charcoal Konro Grill set, it is really convenient. We bought some Japanese Wagyu beef for yakiniku from supermarket near Kirishima. The beef is yummy, really delicious.

Situated a 15-minute drive from Yakushima Airport, La Isla Tasse is charming accommodation housed in a large American-style mansion. Free in-room Wi-Fi is available, and guests can unwind in a spacious lounge with comfortable sofas. An excellent place, the house is exceptionally clean. We had a bedroom that was very comfortable with a view on Anbo river. Breakfast is exceptional, traditional Japanese with an egg and ham, every day different options. The hosts are very, very nice people.

A 3-minute walk from Yakushima Airport, Tomarigi offers a bunk in a dorm room, a garden with a hammock and free Wi-Fi. It has a lounge with a flat-screen TV and a DVD player, as well as a shared kitchen. Satomi-san is the best woman! She was so nice and friendly with everybody, she creates special atmosphere of this place. She made me onigiri for hiking, but they were so big, that I finished just one. I’m so sorry…😬 When I have just arrived to Tomarigi, I was a bit sad and tired, but in the end of my stay it was like to live in a family. Can’t wait to come back and see Satomi-san again 🙃
