This was such a lovely place, full of quirky details like cherubs hanging from the ceiling. Comfortable, practical, clean yet quirky!! Everywhere you look you can see something interesting. My favourite part was getting up in the morning and seeing the amazing view of the volcano as I walked along the corridor. Nice clean beach just in front and we even managed a swim in the April sea. Comfy, simple rooms. Very quiet and peaceful. We got muffins and fruit in the mornings - my particular favourite as the muffins were gluten and dairy free… made by the lady who runs the guesthouse. (I myself am gluten and dairy free. When I told the lady this she put in some extra muffins just for me. ❤️❤️❤️) It is a little out of town so useful to have a car to get around. But I think buses run regularly nearby.

The hostel is beautiful and artistic. Modern facility, stunning views and directly at the beach. We had the most comfy bed & sheets I ever had in a hostel. The rooms are pretty quite - also when people are talking in the hallway it is not disturbing. Very polite staff - helping with getting around in Kagoshima and even providing little breakfast snacks. I loved that they have a sense of sustainability and consciousness of the environment (bamboo toothbrush, vegan food, etc). There is a very nice restaurant in the basement which is not open every day and not directly linked to the hostel - but still very recommended! Make sure to get up early to see the sunrise when the sky is free of clouds. The location is outside of Kagoshima city and invites to relax and calm down. We had a wonderful stay and would always come back. Special hint: queen bedroom!

The hotel is far from the centre and the train station, but it is in front of the volcano and has a breathtaking view. Don't miss the sunrise! There is no real breakfast, but quality home-made snacks are offered, as well as tea and coffee. The hotel is above an art gallery and a very good restaurant/bar, unfortunately it closes early in the evening. The main city’s historical landmark, Sengan-en, is 5 minutes walking from the hostel.

The building itself seems like a whole project consist of cafe, gallery and hotel, wonderful view from the communal balcony, very stylish and comfort interior design. We felt very very lucky to have gluten free muffins for breakfast! They are really well made.

The most amazing view I ever had - combined with an amazingly styled hotel. Very clean, very cozy. Very kind staff. Beach straight in front of the hotel. Cafe/Restaurant downstairs with very yummy food. Be mindful, that getting to/from the city center at night is tricky and you might have to walk through the tunnel. But during the day there is a bus running. Still definitly worth staying there!
