The owner is super friendly. He gave me a free bike rental to check out the area. Room was comfortable . If he offers to cook you dinner or breakfast (for an extra charge) I would highly recommend it! He is a great cook and always has the freshest fish. This guesthouse is worth the climb: located in a beautiful mountainous forest, the sounds of cities and cars are replaced by nature and animals. Takao-san is a wonderful host: he came to our car in the pouring rain with spare umbrellas and upgraded us to the largest room as we were the only guests that night. His family was also very welcoming and sweet. Everything was clean, combining the convivial guesthouse atmosphere to the traditional ryokan room architecture.
