My wife and I spent 7 days at Mailagama Cinnamon Residence. The hotel is located in a very beautiful and quiet place in the middle of green rice fields. We loved to walk and there were many routes around - there were large lakes nearby. You meet very few people, just many-many peacocks or a lonely lizard. The hotel is nice looking and comfortable. Our room was clean and large. There was very good hot water pressure, probably the best of the 9 hotels in Sri Lanka where we stayed. Terrace with beautiful views of the surrounding area. There was a large space for working on a laptop, doing yoga and meditation, with fans running. As we are freelancers it was essential for us. We were delighted with the food cooked by two very kind ladies. The hotel manager was incredibly attentive to all our needs, very punctual and obliging. We were also glad to meet the hotel owners. Indira and her husband showed us their cinnamon plantations. It is not like in numerous “Spice gardens”, where they try to sell tourists cinnamon at an increased price. There was a small family production here, which was specially shown to us. You can buy cinnamon, but no one imposes it. We bought some as gifts for our friends. And we were also very grateful to our hosts for driving us along the highway. Within half an hour we met 3 elephants, a herd of buffalo and deer. And this was not a nature reserve, but an ordinary road. On another day we went on a safari to Yala Park. We saw 3 leopards, wild pigs and many other animals. The safari was booked through the hotel, the price was quite normal. Overall, this is one of the best hotels in terms of price-quality. Many people only stay for a day to go on safari, but this place deserves more. We are going to return here next year and recommend this hotel to everyone who likes nature

At the guest house, all units include bed linen and towels. Priyanka was a wonderful host. After arriving from a hot afternoon safari I was greeted with a cold towel and a fresh coconut. The room is large, clean and has a/c. The dinner and breakfast prepared by his wife was delicious. It was great value. Overall a fantastic one night stay. I highly recommended this guest house.

Bundala Bird Sanctuary is 26 km from the guest house, while Situlpawwa is 39 km from the property. The nearest airport is Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport, 28 km from Lake Face Cabana. I can't even describe in words how beautiful this place is. an indescribable amount of greenery with lots of different plants and flowers, I have traveled a lot and have rarely stayed in such simple and beautiful places like this. it makes you happy. they let us stay an hour longer than the checkout time for free. in the evening they prepared a delicious dinner for us. it's nice to sleep here even when it rains. the sound of the rain is very relaxing. if you come to these parts you must stay here.

At the guest house, every unit comes with a seating area. Everything was perfect. The location is just amazing, next to rice fields and impressive landscape. The family is super nice and welcoming, especially Adi treated us super well! His father is an artist that has decorated all the hotel and that also works the rice fields. They packed us the breakfast early in the morning when we had to leave for the safari, even if we have not arranged it with them. They gave us a delicious welcoming juice and a lot of fresh fruit during our stay. The room was very big, clean and comfortable. There was also place to park our tuktuk in the yard. We spend an extranight there because it was the best homestay we had been to in Sri Lanka! You can also take bikes for free to go and see the fruit bats at dawn. Dinners were delicious and non spicy!!! At last we found non spicy food in Sri Lanka! And everything for an unbeatable price.

This is the best stay I had in my time during my Sri Lankan visit. I liked everything about this property. They will send a tuktuk to the bus stop to pick you up and also will arrange a tuktuk to take you into the bus stop when you check out - free of cost. Food will be prepared on order and that was delicious too. They will arrange Yala safari if you are interested, pick up at 4.30am. Our driver was very knowledgeable about the animal/bird species but unfortunately the vehicle got broken down and he had to arrange a new one. New driver also tried to show us everything around. Ppl at the stay packed the breakfast and left it with the driver and in the park during safari, we were served with delicious breakfast. After the checkout, the tuktuk they arranged, took me to the bus stop and showed the bus that I have to board. Overall, this was the bestest stay I had in Sri Lanka

Offering a restaurant and free bikes, MOON LIGHT Guest House is located just 1.1 km from the Tissamaharama Bus Station and 3.2 km from the beautiful Tissa Lake. Free WiFi access is available in this self-catering accommodation. The host was incredibly welcoming and treated us with great hospitality. The food was outstanding. Monkeys living in the garden and view is excellent, we enjoyed watching lots of birds from the terrace. Its much more nice IRL compared with pictures we looked at before. We did the safari with the hotel and spotted sloth beer and leopard.
