It was a cold March day when we arrived. The pellet stove was lit and the heating on in the bedroom on. It was a lovely to arrive in a pre-warmed warm accommodation. The owners gave us all the relevant information about the heating system which was really simple. They also gave clear information about how to reach them if there were any problems. The accommodation was an old property recently renovated to a very high standard but keeping the old features. There was everything there that we needed for cooking. Towels and bedding were included as well as dish cloths, tea towels etc. The beds were very comfortable with extra bedding if it got very cold. The location was on an old street of terraced properties near to the the centre. It was very quiet with nice views over the countryside. The whole property was very clean and it had a nice courtyard garden area with a table etc.

The entry to Domme is through an imposing medieval portic. Good restaurants in the city. Francine's guest house at Domme is perfectly placed to explore all the attractions in the Golden Triangle of the Périgord. At the same time it is close, but not in the buzz at Sarlat la Caneda. The towns of Beynac and Cazenac, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, Cénac-et-Saint Julien, La Roque-Gageac, Vézac and Vitrac are worth exploring + 11 castles not far away. The guest house is quiet, no noises, and has a well equipped kitchen. The town of Domme has a belvedere where we can have amazing views from the river Dordogne, 150 metres below. I post a few pictures only. I could post many more from Domme and the region. But, I do not want to spoil other traveller's discovery of the region. As the region is hilly, many scenic views are granted for those that drive their cars outside the beaten track.

the location was exceptional! The ancient city fortress wall is the edge of the garden, with unobstructed views of the hills beyond. It is very quiet with no tourist traffic, yet just a few minutes walk to the village center. The cottage has a well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, a large dining area, a sitting area looking on to the garden. There is a washer and dryer in the garage that was not communicated to us initially, nor mentioned in the listing. I give this an A-, only due to dates furnishings and subpar wine glasses.
