Banda Do Sol features accommodation in two private cottages, one holiday home and one private studio apartment. It is a 7-minute drive from Vila Calheta, which features a sandy beach, marina, supermarket and restaurants.

What an amazing place this is!! Heather has poured so much love into making this property feel like a home. We have been traveling for 2 months now and Banda do Sol is still our favorite place we have stayed because it felt most like a home. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is INCREDIBLY well stocked, but it’s all of the tiny thoughtful touches to putting the room together that really shine. The property is beautiful as well, and we really enjoyed the garden. The location was excellent, in a quieter area of the island (still with plenty of restaurants within a short drive if you don’t want to use the kitchen) Heather is so kind and we loved hearing about her life and love for Madeira. Thank you Heather for a wonderful stay and we hope to be back in the future!

It’s clean, spacious and in a very good state. The swimming pool is fantastic and can be heated if needed. When we went it wasn’t very hot so we asked them to heat the pool and the water was such a lovely temperature after. Very big kitchen and comfortable living room. Very spacious bedrooms with large comfy beds. Each bedroom has their own bathroom. Large garden with terrace and beautiful view. Two cars can be parked on the driveway.

Exceptionally clean indoors and out! The pool area is beautiful and private. You are quite close to a number of other properties but the screening is excellent. You have a local supermarket about 200m from the house and Calheta marina with its many restautants and a pingo doce is only a 5 min drive from the property too. We were really lucky with the weather and made the most of all the lovely outdoor furniture. There is a parking spot which belongs to the property.

    The most incredible secluded spot in all of Madeira, fantastic sunsets and views over Fanal. Yoj felt you had the island to yourself. Rooms were lovely and cozy, very clean. Staff were so kind and helpful and would really really recommend staying here.

    The villa is located off the beaten path, but it is relatively close to the city or the beach. The facility is well-kept, very clean and spacious. The swimming pool is a great advantage (it's not a paddling pool - you can really swim there). The property owner is responsive and nice. I highly recommend that place.

    The house was an excellent place to stay! Very clean, mostly very well equipped and the view from the terrace was just gorgeous. It was great to have the pool to provide some entertainment for our 2 year old. Please note you must have a car to get to the property. There are no big shops nearby and the road up to the house was steep. This didn’t bother us though since we had planned to hire a car anyway.

    It’s cute little holiday house with a terrace and a garage. Very simple self check in, easy to find and fluent host communication. Apartments are very near supermarket.

    Best stay ever. Super well equiped, very clean, awesome view and the host is absolutely nice. He helped us with everything we needed, making our stay even better. I will for sure come back again. I recommend this place with all my heart

    The inn was really lovely, it was very clean and in a great location. Very close to the supermarket, beach and the harbour. We had a view of the ocean from our room. We had no problem parking on the street nearby. The bed was very comfortable. The towels to hire for the beach were really convenient. Overall fantastic value for money. The owners were super friendly and funny and the food and drinks from the rum bar were delicious!

    The accommodation was lovely. Place was very clean and well kept. The pool was a great addition and the view's were amazing to wake up to. The owner made the process smooth and easy. Simply sent us instructions for self check in and was hassle free. Definitely would recommend staying here. However, it is away from the main city centre and without a car it will be difficult to travel. Luckily I rented a car and this wasn't an issue
