We stayed in one of the fre motel rooms which had all the facilities we needed (even a balcony). The location was about 800m to the centre and the same to the gondola.

Loved the spa bath and very well equipped kitchen. The views of the lake are stunning. We loved it so much we booked it twice in our last 2 weeks in NZ with a 3 day gap in between to go to Milford Sound. Great to have a sauna and swimming pool. The Reception staff are lovely and very helpful.

There’s a small grocery store literally across the road and then around the corner there’s a bigger one! Super convenient. All the ski shuttles will pick up/drop off right out the front of the holiday park. There’s HOT water that never seems to run out and everything was very clean!!! Amenities were great - shared kitchen and lounge was very useful!
