The location is perfect, just steps from the ferry, restaurants and a small hill you can hike and see beautiful panoramic view of the town and surrounding waters with islands. There is a gas station and a grocery store. This guest house has 6 rooms, 3 rooms are downstairs and 3 rooms are upstairs. We stayed in the room upstairs. Rooms are not big, but very comfortable and extremally clean. Each room has its own bathroom, which is not always the case in Iceland. The breakfast was personally prepared by the owners for the time you wanted to have it, and it included home made products, like jams, breads, juices. It addition there were some very tasty cold cuts, vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers), cheese, and of course coffee/tea. It couldn't be more perfect.

Out of 7 times visiting Iceland, we never stopped in Stykkisholmur - this was long overdue. I think we picked the perfect place to enjoy this town, as Monika was an outstanding host. We pretty much had the guesthouse all to ourselves, as a group of 7 people. We enjoyed all the nice touches from the owner, all the little extras like some food in the fridge, 2 types of coffee to choose from in the morning, and the games and books in the living room. We were a bit in a rush to continue our tour and head back to Keflavik the next day, which was our only regret as we could not enjoy the guesthouse a bit longer.

Very cozy and nice. The location is stunning, right in front of the harbour. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and new, you don’t have keys you can forget around but a code to enter the room (very helpful). The kitchen is well equipped and the communal areas are well designed, you can tell the owners put a lot of efforts in making it welcoming and artistic. We arrived an hour earlier than the check in time and we were willing to wait on a sofa at the entrance but the owner allowed us to put the luggage in the room, invited us to stay in the communal area downstairs and get a hot coffee, we truly appreciated that act of kindness, this is the definition of being welcoming!
