There was also an option online to request the change of towels and throw out the trash which I didn’t use because of my short stay, thus I don’t know how that would work but it was a nice touch. I can see how people who are not used to the sound of trains could find the presence of the train tracks nearby a problem. My room was on the 3rd floor facing the train tracks directly and I didn’t consider the sound unbearable, in fact, I barely heard it. The gentleman I had to call in the early Sunday morning to unlock the front gate for me was really nice and helpful.

Privatzimmer Hamburg Alsterdorf has its own garden for relaxing in fine weather. The Alsterdorf sports hall, the open-air stage in the town park and the Alsterwanderweg (Alster hiking trail) are just a short walk away. Nice location and owner was very kind. We checked in earlier than supposed to, but owner had kept our luggages for us. On the last day we checked out and had travel while owner let our luggages at the accommodation. Also the owner provided cooking oils which we wanted to have for breakfast, if not we had to buy it. Owner provided good advice that should buy stuff at supermarket at the day we checked in, as it was Christmas eve. 25th and 26th December, almost all supermarkets closes, it was good to know what we had to prioritize during the travel.
