The property is 3.1 km from Beppu City Traditional Bamboo Crafts Center. I've stayed in quite a few hostels around the world and this is definitely amongst the best, if not the best. The owners and staff have thought of everything that guests in Beppu would need: slippers, tote-bags (for clothes) and even toiletries that one would require to explore the nearby onsen. There's also a drinks bar that's free-to-use (to hydrate after that onsen soak) and a comic collection with books which one can borrow and bring to their rooms freely. The room itself was spacious (perhaps a bit too much; this coming from a solo traveller who booked the cheapest three-bed economy option), complete and best of all, soundproof. That last quality is a rarity amongst rarities here in Japan and it was something that I really, really appreciated. All-in-all, a gem of a place. Highly recommended!
