Miki is a very nice host: her Japanese breakfast was delicious. I loved the view out of the veranda. The house is outside town so very quiet.

Mika was a great host. Great little homestay, breakfast each morning was wonderful and homely. Beautiful surroundings and a lovely country walk into Yufuin. Mika would sometimes give us a lift. Lovely little onsen in the garden all rustic. Mkka also helped us wash our clothes.

It was a pleasant stay at a Japanese ryokan with traditional Japanese furnishings like tatami mat, a kotatsu, and futon beds. The breakfast was homemade and yummy, with a lovely garden view to boast. Although she couldn't really speak English, the lady host was warm and helpful, driving us to and fro the train station where all the attractions were located. The toilet is clean and well-maintained. Being a traditional Japanese house, the walls between rooms are thin and so voices from the next room can be heard easily, but that's part and parcel of the experience of staying in a traditional homestay:)
